Question   Riva
Dear Riva,

It is amazing to me the beauty and wonder of nature. I often see you photographing your flowers and I always wonder what does she see? Now I know. Thank you Riva.

Question   Inspirational Photography
My son, who is living in NYC, sent me a link to the article that appeared in the NY Times over the holidays. I had just received a macro lens for Christmas and my son thought I would be inspiried by the article. He was so right. I still don't know how to use my news lens properly and the directions that came with it are not helpful. I'll figure it out some day, but for now, I'm taking decent photographs and posting them on a blog I started over the holidays, as a way of sharing my pictures with my family and friends.
I am very inspired by your close-ups, especially of the roses. Gorgeous. I'm so glad for you that you found something that makes your heart sing.

Question   Thanks for sharing!
Just recently started some close-ups after a long layoff. My old standbys were old Leica and Leicaflexes with dual-range lenses and bellows. They were delightful, but the new technologies make this exquisite pleasure available to those of us who are not professional. Your work is inspirational, and I kinda think that's a lot of what photography is, or at least should be, about. Keep up the wonderful work/play, Ed McDonald

- Ed McDonald 1/2/2008 7:02:01 PM

  Answer Dear Ed,

Thank you so much for your thoughts about my photography. I'm so glad I like technology! If I didn't, as so many of friends don't, I would never have found this joy. It has been a magical two and a half years. And it doesn't seem to stop.

And I'm glad you feel that way, too. We are so fortunate.

Keep in touch.

Question   Excellent photographs
I landed on this webpage via a link from an article in NY Times. Excellent photographs! Also I completely agree with your comment on digital camera and computers. Had it not been for them, I too would not have started on this hobby. Your webpage will be an inspiration for me to get serious about photography. Thanks a lot and I will add your website to my favorites

Question   Very Nice Pictures
I have been taking and processing photos for over 6 decades and find your macro photos of flowers lovely. I switched to digital in about 1990 and have never looked back. Keep up the good work.
